BRIAN ROBINSON

Brian Robinson was born in Pennsylvania in 1972 and has has been creating art all of his life.  At an early age, he moved to Massillon, Ohio.  After graduating from Perry High School in 1990, he pursued a degree in Art Education at The University of Akron.  While at Akron, he began working primarily in pastels with the Ohio landscape as his subject.  He received his Masters Degree in Painting from Kent State University in 2003.

Brian has exhibited extensively for over fifteen years, both in collaborative and solo exhibitions.  He has won numerous awards for his artwork, several coming from the Ohio Show in Zanesville.  He has exhibited work throughout the state.  Currently several of his paintings are on display at the Governor’s residence in Columbus.  One of his paintings has been purchased by the Butler Museum of American Art in Youngstown and is a part of their permanent collection.

When asked about his work, he said “Light and the color that is produced from different atmospheric conditions in the landscape, has been a driving force in my work.  The landscapes that I produce are an attempt to mirror the beauty that is created by God.  Beauty that is often ignored by many people.  My hope is that my artwork can help people recognize God’s existence.”

Brian resides in Dover, Ohio and has been teaching art at Tuslaw High School for over twenty years.  He is married and has two sons.
